My Business Bookkeeping Is a Mess

My Business Bookkeeping Is a Mess is work we take on in person, on a screen.

The Tax CFO named on the home is Steven Palmieri, and the Entrepreneur's CFO is this same practice when the work is bigger than a return.

Meet the practice

A laptop and a cup on a work table.

Who you are talking to

You talk to Steven Palmieri and the people on this practice. The first screen of the home says the same thing, because an owner should not have to hunt for a name. We keep the books, we set payroll up so a provider can run it, we tie a month to the bank, and we prepare the return once that month is real.

On a first screen share we look at three things only. The account that collected whatever nobody wanted to name. The bank difference, including checks that never cleared and deposits that were really you funding the company. And the chart, where an account nobody has touched in a year still offers itself every morning. You leave with those three written down. The sort starts from that list.

Audit, review, and compilation are covers we do not put our name on, and a bank that wants one of those covers needs a different firm. The full boundary sits on the disclosures page, written out rather than hinted at here. If the signature is the real request, you will hear that before anyone acts as if this door could provide it.

What a first month with us feels like

You share the screen. We look at the catch-all, the bank difference, and the chart together. You leave with a list, not a speech. The list is missing statements, charges only you can name, and accounts we want to park. The next time we meet, some of those lines have a home.

A rainy Saturday of errands is where a lot of families disappear for the afternoon. We know that kind of day. A company card that went along is one of the lines on the list. We treat it as a classification, the same as fuel. The grocery, the hardware store, and the shop do not need their own speech. They need a name on the line before Monday, so the month can still tell a household cost from a job cost.

After the sort

When one month matches, we can talk about a rhythm. Same close, same pack of statements, a payroll provider already in place. The sort does not have to be re-explained every month. That is the point of doing it once, properly, with you watching.
